Screen Size
Choose a screen size that is easy for toddlers to handle. Smaller screens can be more manageable, but keep in mind that larger displays offer better viewing experiences for videos and educational apps.
Durability
Toddlers can be rough on devices. Look for tablets that come with durable cases or consider investing in a strong protective case if the device does not come with one.
Educational Content
The best iPads for toddlers should include access to a wide range of educational apps and games. Check if the app store is kid-friendly and has suitable materials for various developmental stages.
Parental Controls
Safety is paramount when giving devices to young children. Consider tablets that provide robust parental controls to monitor and limit the content your child can access.
Budget
While it’s tempting to go for premium devices, there are many budget-friendly options that still offer great features for toddlers. Determine a budget before you start shopping.
Battery Life
Parents should also evaluate battery life, especially if they plan on using the tablet for long periods during trips or while out of the house.
Performance
The performance of the device relative to your child’s needs is also essential. Avoid slow devices that could frustrate toddlers when they want to access their favorite shows or games.
Compatibility with Accessories
Some iPads support accessories like styluses and keyboard attachments, which could enhance learning experiences. If this is a consideration for you, ensure the device is compatible.
